You’re invited to share your expertise at re:con – the convention of new beginnings which will be held November 6 – November 8, 2024 in Traverse City.
Are you an innovative industry leader with knowledge to share? Then we’re looking for you!
Presenting at re:con is a unique opportunity to reach a broad audience from across the state in the disability community including: advocates, providers, educators and consumers. The program at re:con will showcase future directions, best practices, stories of successful collaborations, lessons learned, and solutions to community-wide issues within various program tracks.
All proposals are welcome, preferred categories include:
- Policy
- Transition
- Mental Wellbeing/Behavioral Health
- Independent Living/ Disability Specific
- Employment Opportunities
- Leadership
- Ethics
2024 Call for Breakout Session Proposal
The request for proposals for 2024 re:con Breakout Sessions is open.
The program at re:con will showcase future directions, best practices, stories of successful collaborations, lessons learned, and solutions to community-wide issues within various program tracks.
Proposals may be submitted for either 1 hour or 2 hour sessions, the presentation must go the full hour – not including Q&A – in order to qualify for CEUs.
Panel presentations are limited to 3 panelists and one moderator.
PROPOSAL SUBMISSION DEADLINE October 5, 2024.
Presenter Registration
The primary presenter will receive a complimentary conference registration FOR THE DAY OF THE PRESENTATION ONLY, presenters are welcome to register for additional days at standard pricing. Co-presenters must register for the conference. No compensation is available for hotel or travel.
Creating Presentation Materials and Choosing Audio-Visual Equipment
As a selected presenter, you will be responsible for providing any materials for use or distribution in your presentation. AV is provided in each presentation room and will consist of a projector and microphone. You must provide your own computer. Have any/all videos embedded within the presentation and do not rely on wifi or other connections to stream video or access websites.
We seek to ensure the full participation and inclusion of all identities, and we commit to creating environments in which any individual or group feels welcomed, respected, supported, and valued to fully participate. Presenters must be prepared to lead according to this standard.
Commercial Solicitation
Commercial solicitation is prohibited at all presentations. If you are representing a commercial interest, your presentation must be educational in nature. If the essential purpose of a proposal is to promote books, materials, or services for sale, it will not be accepted. Proposals of a sales nature can be submitted as an exhibitor entry.
Receiving Notification You Have Been Selected to Present
Acceptance/rejection notification will be sent via email to the primary presenter. It is the primary presenter’s responsibility to relay that information to all co-presenters.

Once your proposal has been approved by the program committee, please keep checking your email for important updates from Katie Kinde.
We ask that all speakers/presenters try to make powerpoint presentations as accessible as possible. Please review the presenter information below to learn more.
