Artist Bio
MRC artist Ravyn is a Kalamazoo native that explores color and form in her acrylic paintings. She was MRC’s Artist of the Month in June 2024. Ravyn draws inspiration from the natural world around her. When she’s not creating at artWorks, you can find her hanging out with friends and listening to music.
Artist Statement:
While this was her first time using watercolor and resist, it captures the essence of Ravyn’s work, detailing natural shapes and exploring color. The piece encompasses the feelings of fall, while inviting the viewer to be enveloped in the calm of autumn. Her art is influenced by the world around her, and the only reference she uses is her imagination. The joy she feels when she creates her art is evident in the free-flowing color and spirited shapes.
