Joseph Yuhas is a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with MRS, working out of the Adrian Office in Lenawee County, his caseload includes working with adults, transition students and returning citizens. Joseph serves on the Steering Committee for the Offender Success Program in Region 9 and is a member of the Diversity Advisory Team at MRS. Joseph has established a great partnership with the Lenawee County Parole/Probation Office, as well the Lenawee County Drug Court Program, he also works closely with the LISD and is responsible for transition students at 6 High Schools in the County. Prior to joining MRS, Joseph spent 19 years with the Ypsilanti City Police Department in several roles including; Public Housing Unit, School Liaison Officer, G.R.E.A.T Instructor (Gang Resistance Education and Training), SWAT Team, and Detective Bureau before retiring in early 2016 as a Sergeant.
Joseph has a Master’s degree in Counseling from Eastern Michigan University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Spring Arbor University. Joseph believes that communication and establishing mutual trust is one of the most valuable aspects of VR counseling and strives to make each customer feel as though they are the most important person in the room.
