Joann holds a Master of Arts degree in rehabilitation counseling and community inclusion from Wayne State University as well as a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences and psychology from the University of Windsor. She is an experienced program manager skilled in program development and management, communication, team management, developing relationships with community partners, project management, and advocacy. At Rainbow her primary role consists of overseeing therapeutic and vocational programming to Rainbow’s young adult population, as well as providing individual vocational counseling and mental health therapy to young adults.
Joann is a proponent of addressing public health concerns with advocacy efforts including working as the young adult social media administrator for the Brain Injury Association of Michigan’s young adult network and as a disaster mental health service provider for the American Red Cross. Previously she served as a case manager for a group of chemically dependent women, a mental health counselor in an acute psychiatric hospital, board member for the Windsor Downtown mission, and crisis support worker for suicide support centers.

Joann is also a licensed professional counselor, certified rehabilitation counselor, certified brain injury specialist, Handle with Care instructor, graduate of the brain injury leadership academy’s conscious leadership program, and active yoga enthusiast.
