James Willis

James has a BS from MSU in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work from WSU. While working on his Masters, James worked at a residential treatment facility for delinquent youth, Don Bosco Hall and in the EAP at the Detroit Medical Center. James has worked for JVS for more than 20 years working as a job coach, transition specialist, vocational evaluator and supervisor. James is a CARF Surveyor and mentor for the ODEP’s transformation initiatives and graduated in the first cohort of MARO’s leadership academy. James is certified by Marc Gold & Associates and ACRE in Customized Employment and has coordinated the implementation of Pathways to Careers in Michigan. James has served on several boards including the MRA, MDRA and MIAPSE. James currently serves as the Vice President, Workforce and Rehabilitation where he oversees Business and Career Services, Ort Computer Training, Rehabilitation Services and a workforce program targeting Detroit’s homeless.
