Courtney Whatley is pursuing a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling with a specialization in blindness and low vision at Western Michigan University. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Troy University in Alabama. Courtney is a graduate assistant for the Rehabilitation Counseling program. Ms. Whatley is currently a member of the National Rehabilitation Association and the Rehabilitation Counselors and Educators Association. Courtney moved to Western Michigan University from Missouri to pursue her education. While in Missouri, Courtney worked with people facing homelessness. After realizing a majority of the homeless population experienced discrimination due to their disabilities, she wanted to be a part of helping individuals with disabilities obtain their vocational goals. Courtney’s professional goal is to be employed as a rehabilitation counselor in the State/Federal vocational rehabilitation system.
