Chaka McDonald is the Veterans and Military Family Navigator for Oakland County with Oakland Community Health Network. His position entails linking Veterans and their family members to appropriate resources in the community regardless of discharge status. He is the son of Marine veteran and nephew to Army veterans. Chaka has an extensive history working with and providing services to veterans, either case manager or as the co-chair of the Tri County Veterans Network.
Chaka McDonald also has an extensive history in prison reentry, assisting men and women returning from prison with education and employment attainment. He also understands the needs of family members of those in crisis or facing incarceration by providing wrap around services in a program supporting the National Fatherhood Initiative. Chaka also has an extensive history as an school teacher and educator, instructing both adults and youth either in a classroom setting or in employment readiness practices.
