Artist Bio
My name is Madison Berry and I was diagnosed with a dual diagnosis of schizophrenia and DID. I paint my alters! They help me to see the world and express myself and my ideals. They also help me with my fears and past trauma. They are not imaginary friends. They are not just coping mechanisms. They are parts of me. They hold pieces of my soul that are special. They think their own thoughts and have their own actions. Feel free to say hello to my alters!
My art is very much an expression of myself. I enjoy using watercolor to give a dreamy effect. I use bold eyes to show each character’s expressions. Each character is not the same. The color scheme is usually matched together with similar colors to the eyes and hair. I also make sure to have them face the audience. I want the audience to see my facets. I wish for the audience to connect with my alters individually. They are all pieces of me.
